"What A Family"

Family
Most people would love to talk about family, and I’m one of them. My family doesn’t really bother me, because it’s a lot of behind the back bull going on. Ever since my grandmother died we haven’t been close. I guess you can say she was the glue that whole us together. In my view they’re like the government, and you have to pick a side. If you go against them they kick you when you’re down, but if you’re with them they will give you their all. I’m a wrong or right type of guy but with them it’s I’m wrong and they’re right, no matter what. I can’t agree with that at all, because if your wrong than your wrong, and if your right than your right.
They go to church every Sunday, but condemn you throughout the week. I don’t hate them, but they need to look at themselves. They have tried to put my brother and me out of my grandfather’s house. At that time my grandfather was in the early stages of Alzheimer, and is was over us not going church. My grandfather stopped going to church, so who is at home? My grandfather passed in 2007. We stayed in the house because no one else would. If we leave the house and no one is there than the house will start to decay. They tried to force us to pay rent or move. I decided to leave because I’m not a puppet. My brother on the other hand is more will to listen and do what they say. I just choose not to bow to them. My uncles and aunts all glorified education, and have retried from just that. My aunts are retired school teachers. One of my uncles is a retired Navy first class, and the other one owns three food chains in Chicago.
With my family whoever has the money has the power, so I look at them like a government. I never will fit in that way and they know that so they leave me alone. My favorite aunt is a paralegal, and she is the only one who still gives me a Christmas present and calls on my birthday. I love them and they will be always my family, and maybe one day we can talk and find common ground. On my father side it’s a loving party every time we get together, so don’t feel too sorry for me.

  2. It's great that you know that someone in your family loves you, and you have accepted them as they are, good or bad.

  5. I can totally relate to a lot of what you said. They can keep kicking us while we're down but their kicks are as weak as their minds (the way they think).

  6. I know what you mean by comparing family to a government! My family can be like that too sometimes.
